SkiSim
A ski game that runs in your browser. No install, no account. Pick a mountain and drop in.
Three mountains
Mutex Ridge - alpine face, 1155 m of vertical, three ways in, glades and a park bench.
Kernel Peak - banked bowl, halfpipe gully, rails, lift.
Park City - the real one. 74 sectors cut from a lidar survey of Park City, Brighton and Solitude.
The first two are hand-built. Park City is imported from USGS lidar and OpenStreetMap, so it is the actual shape of the mountain. The game always tells you which kind you are standing on.
Skiing
Carve, tuck, pop, spin, flip, grab. Hit rails and the pipe. Ride the lift back up. The snow keeps your tracks.
The engine
Custom WebGPU engine, written from scratch. No Unity, no Unreal, no Three.js, zero runtime dependencies. It falls back to WebGL on browsers without WebGPU, and a badge in the corner tells you which one actually drew the frame.
Playing
Keyboard, gamepad or touch. Press H in game for the full controls card. Go fullscreen, it is worth it.
Also playable at skisim.app.
Elevation from USGS 3DEP lidar, public domain. Trail and lift geometry from OpenStreetMap contributors under ODbL 1.0, openstreetmap.org/copyright.
